sunrise 03:25
I’ll find a song That will sing my life In shades greater than black or white I’m more than a star In the sky at night There’s more to me than blinking lights Cause it’s all falling down But you think it’s fine Don’t look now You’ve closed your eyes I don’t know how But to my surprise Oh love, the days They pass us by We call their name They never reply Always the same Each sunset death Sunrise, new life I’ll find the words That will speak my heart Anything less and it won’t be worth The time it takes Just to make a sound I might as well have not been heard

counting mistakes as blades of grass how high were the stakes anyway? we forgot to ask the game is hearts we only dealt one hand played ours and lost forced to fold again just hold it inside keep your lips locked tight though you're breaking inside you've got to make this right darlin' now's not the time to say what's on your mind though it burns like a fire you've got to make this right searching for answers tearing them off the wall counting the questions will we find them all? seeing the stitches where we fell apart unsubmission --how you broke my heart
3.
the leaves have changed though you don’t seem to mind and there’s nothing i can do no, nothing i can do the wind has turned and a storm is blowing in and there’s nothing i can do no, nothing i can do (oh) devil took you away devil took you (ooh)

someone else 03:41
trust just doesn’t bend she only breaks and then you’ve got deal with her remains so give it away now fear just doesn’t kill he maims until you feel helpless and insane he’s coming to stay now in his arms you swear you’re there to stay but in his eyes he gave his heart away to someone else, someone else keep him close and baby don’t look back go ahead, hold off your heart attack bout that someone else, someone else (oh) beg him for his love give till he’s had enough suffocate him till he’s backing away now hold tight to the thought that if you don’t give up things will be okay you’re placing the blame, now in his arms you swear you’re there to stay but in his eyes he gave his heart away to someone else, someone else keep him close and baby don’t look back go ahead, hold off your heart attack bout that someone else, someone else (oh) suffering, she watches where she stands he’s holding her heart within his hands all for all she has (oh) hold on tight and baby don’t you stay cause in his eyes he gave his heart away to someone else, someone else hold on tight and baby don’t look back go ahead hold off your heart attack bout that someone else, someone else (oh)

teardrops fall into my hand but the thoughts inside my head are the happiest that i have ever had looks like my eyes have shown what all the rescued people know that what looks like sadness outside is the joy within don’t go, don’t go away hold on, don’t go, please stay don’t go, don’t turn away don’t go, don’t go away can’t you see how much all that you did for me left me so completely free free to walk away from me and start over, start over! so take your fingertips and trace in me a new beginning and i know if i slip i know, i know you’ll catch me autumn leaves are falling so soon and suddenly outside the world falls to ruins downtown the city goes to waste so lets escape away
6.
you and i aren’t just anybody we are volatile bottled up counting down ticking till it’s time so here’s to the weekend (oh) don’t stop to breathe it in (oh) live it how you like it (oh) cause next you know, it’s gone again (oh) another day another dollar that i’ve made at night i sleep and then i wake to do it all again

dayside 02:56
my heart aches to pull you to dayside to shatter the seam between the real and the dream just to know you only behind closed eyes my love follows through so then why don’t you? and i wake, my eyes glazed in the haze of a world tainted and sharpened, breathed life by a girl dipped in the shades of her gypsy braids and i am stranded abandoned on dayside can it hardly be considered life when you’re not living for the waking hours of the day? lost in waking sleep, till in sleep i wait for you to come come and take me away wasting down to dust waiting, will these hands ever know, will they ever feel your touch? slowly the days grow longer without you suffering each hour i scream, will i ever make it through? wishing just to know that you’re real hoping to know
8.
the odyssey 06:31
it’s been ten years since i’ve left and you’ve been lying awake at night lying awake at night you can’t sleep till staring at the morning light praying that i’d survive praying that i’d survive it’s been ten years since you’ve heard of me my gravestone’s in the ground my gravestone’s in the ground they always say you’ll save yourself for judgement day your husband to be found your husband to be found if love is blind then hope will see me through cause i’m coming home you’ll know me in stranger’s clothes in stranger’s clothes it’s been ten years since i’ve left you for a war i couldn’t win a war no one could win through the sirens i’ve fought across the ancient world lived tales no one should tell tales no one should tell it’s been ten years since i’ve been at home there’re suitors at the door suitors at the door but in triumph i watch you as you run to see me shipwreck on the shore shipwrecked on the shore if love is blind then hope will see me through cause i’m coming home you’ll know me in stranger’s clothes in stranger’s clothes i will fight i will fight for your hand in love again (oh)

the thing is 03:44
it came as no surprise that she plainly broke my heart to try and hold a firefly is to surely end up burnt and the thing about it all, well is that we’d never even kissed maybe if we had than i might be over this (oh) the thing is there’s only one world how will i ever get better when i’m chased down by you through the sunlight through ordinary days whether it’s wrong or right, day or night --they remind me of you and like a gushing fool i held on to my love i was thinking that that could be enough for the both of us and what a stupid thing to do because she never even knew all the things i tried or what i went through for the two of us, the hope us that one day she’d thank her lucky stars that i held on to (that i held on to us, to us woah)
10.
’ve known you for the longest time i know i need you i’ve wondered how much are lies and how much truth but you tell me you love me (you tell me you love me) but you turn away (please don’t turn away) when i open my broken, bleeding heart of which i’m ashamed where is love if not in your arms where can i turn if you turn me away? where is peace if not in your hands how can i hope to be okay? i must be better off without you where is love? where is peace? where is joy? where is love if not in your arms where can i turn if you turn me away? where is peace if not in your hands how can i hope to be okay? where is love? i must be better off without you (i must be better off)

Thank You:

There are a lot of people to thank for a lot of good reasons. But easily the person most essential to making this album has to be Derek Martin. Derek provided advice on mixing, mastering, loaned equipment, time, experience, money, encouragement --there is literally no need that we as a band had that he was not there first offering a hand. All of us came to know and appreciate him and we can comfortably say that even the songs would not have come together had it not been for his friendship. Your talent, ability, and graciousness has been foundational to these ten songs and how everything has come together. Cheers, brother.

Josh Lizer - Who loaned us equipment and feedback time and again, a lot of it for free, and what he didn't, at a discount. Every beat of a drum that sounds good on this album is because of your faith in us and your easy-going attitude. Oh, and the mics you loaned us ;).

The Rollins Fam - For letting us make noise at ridiculous times for ridiculous lengths and for never saying it couldn't be done. If we sound good at all it's because you didn't kick us out.

Rudy Fors - For the house and encouragement

Rick's mom - ditto. Oh, and letting us borrow your son

Steve Rashid - For being a friend and letting us steal Rick. And remaining a friend after we did.

To Our Families - For always encouraging us and supporting our crazy ambitions.

And to You - That you listen means so much to us. It's what this music thing is all about: the 3 minutes at a time we can connect to one another. If you, even for a moment, experience that transcendence, than we'll count the three odd years of making this album against all odds time well-spent.

Keep listening,

Jade Lea
